  • Business View Some small businesses appreciate a much more detailed involvement from their advisors. We work closely with all of our clients and some choose to subscribe for the most comprehensive package we can provide, which we refer to as "Business View". This package includes advice on all aspects of software selection, assisting with pre year end tax planning, and cash flow management. Clients subscribing to this level of service also generally ask us to prepare and submit their personal tax returns. Other services such as "Pay View", "Tax View", "Plant View" etc are included within the "Business View Service". We believe "Business View" offers as comprehensive a service as is available from any firm of business advisors, large or small. Property View A key challenge for many growing owner managed businesses is where they position their business. Often the choice to purchase or rent business premises is a key decision, and being aware of all of the options at an early stage can often lead to long term savings for both individuals involved in the business, and the corporation itself. Our input at an early stage will make sure that you are aware of the options available to you in positioning your business, and making that critical decision as to whether a freehold solution is possible for the business and/or the business owners. Many businesses we come across have never really considered being their own landlord, and our experience suggests that this is often one of the most lucrative choices a business owner makes. Plant View When purchasing plant and equipment for business use, a variety of different rates of capital allowance are applied to the equipment, and a decision as to whether a business should for example lease or purchase vehicles (and indeed the types of those vehicles) can have a significant impact on the overall funding required by the business and indeed the subsequent tax liabilities arising on the business owners, employees and the business itself. Involving us at an early stage in the review of decisions relating to plant and equipment purchases can have significant benefits for the business. Board View This is a high end solution for larger SMEs. Our experience with growing businesses means we can offer relevant constructive advice at monthly/quarterly Board Meetings, or in liaison with the company's bankers. Constructive appraisal of new business opportunities and/or investments in plant and equipment would fall under this category of service.

    Accounts View One of the most basic and often neglected services is the overall review of the end of year accounts to put in place appropriate changes in the business model for future periods, to ensure both tax costs are minimised, and commercial returns are maximised for the business owners and the business itself. Our experience with businesses in all industrial sectors means we have the ability to compare and contrast business performance and comment accordingly (whilst always acknowledging client confidentiality is essential). More and more, we are being asked to assist businesses in the preparation and submission of Management Accounts to their banks and credit insurance companies to ensure businesses are able to access appropriate credit lines and also bank facilities. Tax View As well as capital equipment purchases (see Plant View) there are a whole variety of other spending solutions business owners need to make over the years and it is essential that you have a good understanding of the tax implications of how business expenditure is funded and what tax costs might arise. In particular the treatment of benefits in kind to employees becomes more and more complex as each Government adds to the legislation relating to different categories of National Insurance Contributions and Pay As You Earn (PAYE) liabilities. We will comment, and advise on these matters at an early stage, as and when required. Pay View An ever more complex area where we offer a complete solution for business payroll requirements including preparation of monthly payslips, yearend submissions of Tax and National Insurance Contributions, and preparation and submission (via the Government Gateway) of forms P11D and all other statutory documentation. We also have experience in setting up directly with HM Revenue and Customs Staff Incentive Schemes and we would be happy to discuss this with you if required.
